About Foundry
Built by someone who's sat on both sides of the IT relationship.
Foundry exists because the same gap kept showing up: growing businesses need strategic, commercially-minded IT leadership long before they can justify hiring it in-house.
The founder
Where Foundry started.
Samuel Blakey
Founder
United Kingdom
BA Marketing, University of Bedfordshire
Before starting Foundry, Sam spent his career in account management at Microsoft-aligned managed service providers — building long-term client relationships, owning commercial outcomes, and getting genuinely hands-on with the IT decisions behind them.
That combination is unusual. Most IT advice comes from people who are deeply technical but commercially removed, or commercially sharp but reliant on someone else to translate the technology. Sam's background sits across both — P&L ownership and contract negotiation alongside real end-to-end exposure to the Microsoft stack, from cloud infrastructure to day-to-day support.
Time and again, the same pattern showed up with growing businesses: technology decisions made reactively, roadmaps that didn't exist, and IT quietly landing on whoever had the least time to deal with it. Foundry was built to fix that specific gap — strategic ownership for businesses too big for ad-hoc IT, too small to justify a full-time hire.
How we work
One accountable team, not a vendor list.
Strategy stays close
The review, the roadmap and the relationship are owned directly — never handed off to a call centre or account rotation.
Delivery through a vetted network
A curated bench of specialists executes the work, chosen and managed for each engagement rather than fixed to one vendor.
AI-accelerated, not AI-replaced
AI speeds up diagnostics, roadmaps and reporting — the judgement behind them stays human, and stays accountable.
- No strategic roadmap or clear cost visibility
- Limited scalability, AI adoption and security maturity
- Microsoft-stack certified
- Managed, not outsourced
Who we serve
2–100 seat organisations, growing past ad-hoc IT.
Size & stage
Big enough that ad-hoc IT is causing friction, too small for a full-time IT director. Growing, often past a founder doing IT on the side.
Platform
Already on, or open to moving to, the Microsoft stack — 365, Azure, Teams.
Pain points
No strategic roadmap, unclear spend, patchy disaster recovery planning, IT that's reactive rather than a growth lever.
Mindset
Wants a strategic, commercially literate partner — not just the cheapest break-fix option.
Why Foundry
Commercial acumen, technical depth, one team.
Commercial + technical
P&L ownership and contract negotiation sit alongside genuine end-to-end Microsoft-stack and cloud experience.
Real Microsoft breadth
From enterprise accounts to high-growth start-ups — Azure readiness, disaster recovery, multi-tenant migrations.
AI-led delivery
Faster diagnostics, roadmaps and reporting — senior-level strategy at a price a small business can justify.
Relationship-first
An account management background built on retention and trust, not transaction volume.
